ANDREW VEGA
Founder and Director
Born in Denver and raised in Lakewood, Andrew joined his first "choir" in middle school, performing at only one event.
In his senior year at Wheat Ridge High School, he signed up for the Men's Chorus and auditioned for that year's musical production of Rogers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, being cast as Cord Elam. He would also join the Chamber Chorale, before graduating from the school in May 2015.
During his time in community college, Andrew participated in small ensemble performances and joined a musical theatre program, earning a Certificate in Musical Theatre Performance in 2020 and an Associate of Arts in Theatre in 2023.
Andrew currently studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver, becoming the first vision-impaired student accepted into their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre program. He regularly participates as a singer in the University Basso Choir, under the direction of Mary Beth Krueger and Dr. Brian Stone. This re-sparked his passion and love for choral music, and provided him the outlet to learn the skills needed for choral direction, ultimately leading him to focus on building the Mile High Community Chorale in his spare time.
When not performing, Andrew enjoys writing, video games, watching sports (like wrestling and NASCAR), and more.
